Joy Di Palma

My passion for fitness training and personal development originates from my 12 years of competitive sports and a background in Psychology. I am a motivator and try to be a role model to everyone I train. I understand the struggles some clients face as they try to reach their health and fitness goals. Before I became a personal trainer, I struggled with my own weight as a child and teen, but I was determined to to make a change. It was only through dedication and hard work that I did. So I get it. It's not easy. If it was, everyone would be in great shape and I would be out of business. But I'm not and after reaching my own goals I am focused on helping my clients reach theirs.

My training philosophy is simple: give my clients the educational tools they need to facilitate weight loss, create individual work-outs aimed at building muscle strength, and, finally, I focus on eating habits --the core component of any successful body change -- by creating a healthy new eating lifestyle to suit any daily needs. It's a comprehensive approach that continues well beyond our time in the gym. Fitness is not only for the body, but the mind as well. Tackling the internal battles and weight loss motivations of a client are as important as the physical training sessions. My unique whole-lifestyle approach to fitness, combined with confidence boosting techniques consistently delivers dramatic results that last a lifetime.

I was born and raised in New York City and live in Los Angeles. I have competed in two Natural Bodybuilding Competitions, seven 565-mile AidsLifecycle biking events for charity, several triathlons and the 2010 New York City Marathon. In June 2013, I will compete in my very first Ironman competition in Kona, Hawaii.

I am certified by the NGA, CrossFit and most recently, USA Triathlon.

Ken Cervera

Ken Cervera is a NASM certified personal trainer and CrossFit level one certified trainer who began his career teaching private and group Crossfit sessions. He has an extensive background in organized sports, mixed martial arts, weight training, circuit training, and nutrition. Ken is also an avid surf instructor with several years experience teaching clients of all ages and abilities. He loves to push his clients to reach further and achieve more then they ever thought possible. "My goal is to help my clients find that hidden strength that erases all doubt. Once you find it, you will stay fit for life. That's a promise."
